Romanza Brava: A New Chapter in an Iconic Rock Legacy
The iconic Dutch rock band Wild Romance is entering a new phase under the name Romanza Brava – a Wild Romance legacy. With renewed energy and a clear mission, the band continues the story that began decades ago. The music lives on — and it will continue to do so.
In recent years, Wild Romance performed on stages and festivals in the Netherlands and abroad alongside veteran musicians and guitar heroes Dany Lademacher and David Hollestelle. The past year, however, brought major changes. Dany Lademacher passed away, and David Hollestelle decided to step away from the band for personal reasons — a decision that is fully respected.
The journey does not stop. On the contrary. As Romanza Brava, the band builds on its rich past, performing the well-known classics while also embracing new material that looks toward the future.
On August 29, the long-awaited third studio album Too Much Is Never Enough was released. The album marks both a tribute and a new beginning. It is also the final album to feature performances and co-writing by Belgian guitarist Dany Lademacher. His musical signature is inseparably linked to the band’s sound, giving this release additional emotional weight.
As the band puts it:
“It’s not about who’s left, it’s about what we’ve created. We’re only here to keep the legacy alive.”
Too Much Is Never Enough includes nine new compositions. Highlights include “Forever,” in which singer/guitarist Jo De Roeck expresses his desire to keep the band — and his own musical spirit — alive, and “Loser,” a melancholic track with a classic rock feel about the struggle with insecurity.
The album also features a surprising English version of “Ik wil je,” the well-known hit by Belgian band De Kreuners. Thanks to their close connection with their Belgian colleagues, Dany co-created a moving translation that gives the song a new perspective.
The remaining songs were written by the full band. Recording took place in 2024 and 2025 at Atlantis Studio, located at the Q-Factory, for many years the home base of Wild Romance. Production was handled by Emile den Tex and Bent Langerak, with Jan ’t Hoen serving as executive producer.
The current line-up consists of Jo De Roeck, Otto Cooymans, Jan ’t Hoen and John Aponno. In the coming months, the band will perform at pop venues across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The upcoming concerts promise to celebrate the band’s musical heritage with respect for the past and a clear focus on the future.
Romanza Brava keeps the legacy of Wild Romance alive — not by standing still, but by continuing to play.
