Lo van Gorp Announces His Long-Awaited Second Album, The Works

Album Release: June 6, 2025 (Netherlands) | June 4, 2025 (Japan – P-Vine Records)

Dutch musician Lo van Gorp is set to make a lasting impression once again with his second album, The Works, scheduled for release on June 6, 2025. Following the success of his debut album True Friends, which received widespread acclaim in the Yacht Rock/AOR scene, Lo returns with a record that dives even deeper into his personal and musical journey.

True Friends received substantial airplay on NPO Radio 1 and Radio 5, opening the door to major opportunities, including a support slot for the renowned American band Venice. The album also found success in Japan via P-Vine Records, expanding Lo’s soulful sound to an international audience.

Now, The Works follows in its footsteps, with a special Japanese edition releasing on June 4, 2025 via P-Vine Records—two days ahead of the European launch.

Lodewijk van Gorp, better known as Lo, is widely regarded as one of the finest male vocalists in the Netherlands. As a backing vocalist and saxophonist, Lo has worked with an impressive lineup of international icons, including Al Jarreau, Paul Carrack, Chaka Khan, Jacob Collier, Roger Hodgson, Oleta Adams, and the Metropole Orkest, to name a few.

His debut album True Friends was embraced by fans of the Yacht Rock/AOR genre both at home and abroad. It gained significant airplay on NPO’s Radio 1 and Radio 5, and earned him the chance to open for Venice. The album also saw a successful Japanese release through P-Vine Records.

Without even realizing it, many have already become familiar with Lo van Gorp’s smooth, glowing voice. Long considered a hidden gem in the professional music circuit, that status is quickly changing. Lo is now reaching a broader audience and being increasingly recognized as one of the most tasteful and expressive singers in the Netherlands.

In his home country, he has toured extensively with Marco Borsato, Oleta Adams, Trijntje Oosterhuis, and Ladies of Soul. His work with his own band, The Royal Dutch Scam—a highly regarded Steely Dan tribute—has made him a familiar name on the Dutch theater scene. Once you’ve heard his voice, you’ll want to hear more.

The Works, like True Friends, is a collaboration with producer Patrick Drabe. While the debut album offered a kind of musical time capsule from Lo’s years as a session musician, this new record takes a more introspective path. It explores the experiences that have shaped him, the emotions that drive him, and the ambitions that still propel him forward. It’s a journey of self-reflection, growth, and authenticity—brought to life with heartfelt arrangements and performances by his “True Friends,” a handpicked group of top-tier Dutch musicians.

To visually capture the spirit of the album, artist René Dissel has created stunning artwork that will accompany its release.
